With over 20 years of diverse architectural experience, Chris left his own practice to join MKD where he recognized a unique opportunity to improve upon how homes are designed, managed, and built for a broader spectrum of owners, families, and users.With over twenty years of experience, Chris has made a name for himself in the Bay Area as a founding partner with Ashdown Downey and as a principal at Holt Hinshaw. The time he spent with these firms allowed him to work in many different avenues of architecture and fine-tune his ability to manage tremendous workloads with high-profile clients. This work included private homes, theaters, aquariums, libraries, parks, and numerous retail stores at one point directing the production of over 120 drawing sets for stores in less than two and a half years.Chris received a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. After five years of professional experience in Boston, he returned to school to earn his Masters in Architecture from the University of California in Berkeley. Along the way he has also studied architecture in Denmark and worked in Tokyo. He is licensed Architect in California and numerous other states.Chris lives in the East Bay with his family where he is an active member of the community. He is also an avid cyclist logging in close to 5000 miles a year commuting to work and on weekend rides throughout the East Bay Hills and surrounding areas.He is very excited and optimistic about the opportunity to work alongside the staff at MK Designs in hopes of making green architecture affordable and attainable for more people. |
