Chris Gavin concentrates his practice on structured finance transactions. He has broad experience representing various clients in the structuring and negotiation of:
US residential mortgage-backed securities offered in the public and private markets in the United States and Europe, including prime, nonprime, and revolving loans. Chris also assists significant clients in navigating the recent Securities Offering Reform and Regulation AB rulemaking initiatives.
Australian residential mortgage-backed securities offered in public and private US and European markets.
Residential mortgage loan warehouse facilities and residential mortgage-backed securities investment vehicles that issue extendable commercial paper. Chris has taken an instrumental role in developing new structures to utilize the recent amendments to United States bankruptcy and insolvency laws with respect to the protected status of certain repurchase agreements and securities.
Market value swaps, currency swaps and interest rate swaps in connection with numerous structured finance transactions.
Cross-border asset-backed securitization transactions in construction loans, mortgage loans, Colombian auto loans, and trade receivables in Eastern Europe and Latin America.
Chris has extensive experience securitizing many other types of financial assets, including auto loans and leases, commercial mortgage loans, home equity lines of credit, franchise loans, life insurance policy loans, and mortgage servicing rights. In addition, he represents financial guaranty insurers in connection with credit default swaps, collateralized debt obligations, synthetic securitizations and other structured finance products.
