Chris Chalsen is a partner in Milbank's New York office, and is head of the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Mr. Chalsen has practiced intellectual property law, including patent and trademark licensing, litigation and prosecution since 1983. His practice concentrates in electrical and computer-related technologies, semi-conductors, telecommunications and mechanical and medical products. His wide-ranging experience includes judge and jury trials, appeals to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, representation of clients before agencies such as the United States Customs Service and International Trade Commission, in arbitrations (including AAA and ICC) and in all phases of patent, trademark and copyright prosecution practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Copyright Office.
A frequent author and lecturer, Mr. Chalsen serves on the Editorial Board of Managing Intellectual Property and previously served on the Advisory Board of BNA's World Intellectual Property Report. Recognized as a Patent Law Expert in Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Experts, Who's Who Legal and other juried resources, Mr. Chalsen has served as chairman of the American Intellectual Property Law Association's International and Foreign Law Committee, Japan Practice Committee, and European Practice Committee, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the U.S. Group of A.I.P.P.I.
Mr. Chalsen practices throughout the United States and is a member of the federal and state bars of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Chalsen received his undergraduate and masters degrees in computer science from Boston University and his law degree from George Washington Law School. |
