Chip Register has served as Chief Information Officer of NetBank, Inc. since April 2002. He is responsible for the adoption, implementation and operation of the in-house and external technology resources required to support the company's business objectives. Previously, Register served as Chief Information Officer of Resource Bancshares Mortgage Group, Inc. for four years.
Register has more than 20 years of experience as a technologist, the last 11 of which have been focused on the area of financial services. Prior to joining NetBank, he served as VP Technical Architecture/Systems for Fleet Financial Group. Additionally, he has worked as Director, Information Technology for both national distribution and global manufacturing concerns.
Register earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Bob Jones University and completed studies in Advanced French at the University of Toulouse. He is an active member of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) having most recently served on the Governance Committee and as chairman of the eMortgage Workgroup. He also holds industry designations of Certified Mortgage Technologist (CMT), Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) and Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB). |
