Chia-li Wei joined AXT as senior director of technology in May 2007 and was promoted to our Chief Technology Officer in December 2007. Prior to joining AXT Mr. Wei spent a year traveling from June 2006 to May 2007. From September 2003 to June 2006 Mr Wei was an epitaxial process engineer in manufacturing development with Philips Lumileds. From November 1999 to September 2003 Mr Wei was an epitaxial process engineer in manufacturing development with Lumileds. From September 1979 to November 1999 Mr Wei was in various epitaxial process engineering positions with Hewlett Packard’s Optoelectronics Division. Hewlett Packard’s Optoelectronics Division was acquired by Lumileds and then became Philips Lumileds. From July 1976 to September 1979 Mr. Wei was in process engineering development in LEC growth of both indium phosphide (InP) and low-D gallium arsenide with the central research lab of Varian Associates. Mr. Wei has a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and an M.S. degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Wei is a member of the American Association for Crystal Growth. |
