Cheryl L. Janey is president of the Civil Programs business unit of Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD). She is responsible for program execution and the development of new business within civilian agencies of the U.S. Government. Ms. Janey reports to the group president of GCSD. The Civil Programs business unit, which includes Homeland Security (HLS) initiatives, develops and produces advanced communications and information systems for federal and civilian agencies of the U.S. Government and their prime contractors.
Ms. Janey joined Harris in 2007. Prior to her employment with Harris, Ms. Janey served as vice president of Business Development and Strategy for the Commercial, State, and Local (CSL) group of Northrop Grumman's Information Technology Sector. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, she was vice president, Marketing and Business Development, State and Local Government Solutions for American Management Systems. She also has held leadership positions at Unisys Corporation, SCT Corporation, Interactive Data Corporation, and IBM. With more than 20 years of professional experience in business development, marketing, and profit and loss management, Ms. Janey has received numerous awards, including Career Communications Group's 2003 Women of Color Technology and Business President's Award.
Ms. Janey earned her bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
She is a member of Women in Technology and the Potomac Officers Club. She serves on the board of the Virginia High-Tech Partnership, the Executive Advisory Board of the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, and the Executive Advisory Board of The Women's Center. She is a member and past chair of the Information Technology Association of America's State and Local Executive Committee. |
