Chee-Chen Tung aged 63 is an independent non-executive Director of the Company.
Mr Tung is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Orient Overseas (International) Limited and was educated at the University of Liverpool England where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He later obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. He served as Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners' Association between 1993 and 1995. From 1999 to 2001 he was the Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He is an independent non-executive director of Hu Hangyong Expressway Company Ltd. Bank of China (Hong Kong) Co Ltd. Sing Tao News Corporation Limited Wing Hang Bank and Cathay Pacific Airways and a member of the Hong Kong Port Development Board. Mr Tung is also the Chairman of the Institute for Shipboard Education Foundation the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Academic Centre of the University of Pittsburgh and the School of Foreign Service of Georgetown University. Mr Tung has been appointed as an independent non-executive Director of the Company since November 5 1999. |
