Charlotte is an associate in the real estate department. Her practice focuses primarily on environmental regulatory and compliance matters, with an emphasis on coastal regulation and environmental aspects of real estate and business transactions. In addition to representing clients with respect to environmental regulatory matters, Charlotte advises clients on matters related to sustainable development and green business practices, in both real estate and business contexts.
Representative Matters
Assisted clients in the negotiation of and compliance with brownfields agreements entered into with the North Carolina Brownfields Program
Represented local government before the Coastal Resources Commission in petitioning for Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) variance of the development setback rule in order to construct a centralized wastewater collection system
Represented coastal development interests with a variety of environmental approvals, including CAMA permits for channel dredging and marina construction
Represented local government on regulatory matters including rulemaking related to the oceanfront development setback rule
Represented client before local government in petitioning for variance from surface water buffer requirements of local zoning ordinance
