Charlie Cornish is responsible for the delivery of all utility contracts in the business both to the group’s regulated businesses and to external clients. He joined the group in January 2004 and was formally appointed to the board on 27 January 2004. After graduating from Strathclyde University he worked for British Aerospace Plessey Telecommunications and Associated British Foods and also served as an executive director of NHS trusts. In 1998 he joined the West of Scotland Water Authority as human resources director and was involved with major change programmes. He went on to become its customer services director and later chief executive.
He joined Thames Water in 2002 as global business performance director working across Europe Asia-Pacific and the Americas eventually becoming chief operating officer with Thames Water UK and Ireland with responsibility for service delivery including operations and capital programmes. He is chairman of Young Enterprise North West and was appointed to the board of Water UK in March 2006. He is a director of The Mersey Partnership an organisation promoting the Liverpool City region. |
