Charles Chuck Young brings more than 20 years of experience in media, public affairs, politics, and corporate communications to CLS. Chuck has counseled Fortune 100 companies on shaping the national debate over critical public policy issues, media-trained executives for high-profile interviews and editorial board meetings, advised corporations with regulatory matters before federal agencies, and helped companies navigate the halls of Congress and the media spotlight around potentially damaging public affairs issues. Prior to joining CLS, Chuck was a Director for Brunswick Group, an international corporate communications firm where his work covered companies in a variety of sectors including Sears, Astra-Zeneca, Gillette, DuPont, ConAgra, Mylan Labs, BNP Paribas, the American Chemistry Council, Lanxess, SGL Carbon, and Elementis. Before joining Brunswick, Chuck spent six years on Capitol Hill, serving as Chief of Staff for two members of Congress, including Rep. Steven Rothman, a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, and Congressman Rush Holt, Chairman of the House Select Intelligence Oversight Panel. Chuck directed all aspects of their offices from communications to strategic planning. Prior to his work on the Hill, Chuck spent a decade in the media, serving as a reporter for newspapers, television stations, and radio stations. He also ran his own public relations consulting business and taught journalism courses at Emerson College in Boston. Chuck holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communications and an undergraduate degree in Political Science. |
