Since 1997, Dr. Schiffer has held various positions at the Karmanos Cancer Institute at Wayne State University School of Medicine, the most current being Director, Fellowship Program, Division Hematology/Oncology and Vice President of Medical Affairs. Between 1972- 1997, Dr. Schiffer held various positions at University of Maryland Cancer Center and the National Cancer Institute. Since 1974, Dr. Schiffer has also been a Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine and University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Schiffer was a past chair of the Oncology Drug Advisory Committee of the FDA and of the Leukemia Committee of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B. Dr. Schiffer received his B.A. (cum laude) from Brandeis University and his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine. |
