Charles Gildehaus co-founded Mercator Partners in 1999 and serves as the firm's Chief Executive Officer. Charles brings over 20 years of professional services experience in strategy, finance and law. He advises leading companies across the high technology sectors on issues ranging from business unit and corporate strategy to large scale transformation. Recently, Charles has done extensive work with leading service providers, equipment makers, and media players seeking to capitalize on the growing convergence across telecommunications, traditional and new media, and the Internet. In this area, he has led pioneering work in the development of Mercator Partners’ Core Needs Framework to implement needs-based approaches to product innovation, latent demand analysis, market segmentation, and long-term differentiation strategies. Charles is a recognized expert in system dynamics and has led ground breaking work in its application to solve complex operational and strategic problems. Charles has also launched and serves on the board of several successful start-ups in the mobile sector. Prior to founding Mercator Partners, Charles spent ten years working on Wall Street for a leading investment bank and law firm structuring and executing mergers, acquisitions and the issuance of equity and debt capital.He holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, and an AB from Dartmouth College. |
