Charles Garner is President of IGY and also serves as an officer and director of several of IGY’s subsidiaries. Mr. Garner also is Executive Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Island Capital Group LLC, the parent of the general partner of IGY. Prior to being appointed as President of IGY in April of 2007, Mr. Garner’s activities with IGY included responsibility for securing acquisition and traditional debt financings for IGY, as well as the oversight of certain property and business acquisitions.
Mr. Garner’s previous work experience included coordination of the financial restructuring of CityNet Telecommunications Inc. (a specialized telecommunications construction company) and serving as Chief Executive Officer of IDT Ventures, Inc. (the holding company for the non-telecom businesses of IDT Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange traded company. Mr. Garner also was previously a Partner at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York. Mr. Garner received a JD degree (cum laude) in 1987 from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984 from the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Political Science and Urban Studies. |
