Charles Foster retired from SBC (AT&T) in June 2001 after forty years. He retired as Group President. During his last eleven years, he had at various times oversight responsibility for IT, cable, broadband, wireless, international operations, yellow pages, printing, and other corporate functions. Upon retirement he became Chairman of the Board of Prodigy Internet Co. until it was acquired by another company in December, 2001.In 2002, Mr. Foster joined the boards of Amdocs, Inc. (NYSE), a world leader in software for the telecom industry, and Storagetek (NYSE), a leader in the tape storage industry acquired by Sun Microsystems in August 2005. He served ten years as an Advisory Director of the JP Morgan/Chase Bank - San Antonio, retiring in December, 2006.Mr. Foster serves on various non-profit boards including Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research and Morningside Ministries.He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1961 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and did additional studies in Electrical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis Missouri. Until his retirement he was a Registered Professional Engineer. |
