Charles Forster has managed the Turquoise Hill project in Mongolia since January 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Forster was Exploration Manager for five years for Yunnan Mining Ltd and DiamondWorks in China. He also held geological and consulting positions with various companies including Echo Bay Exploration, Vananda Gold Ltd., Freeport-McMoRan Gold Company, Union Carbide Corporation and Texas Gulf Corporation. Mr. Forster has more than 30 years' experience as a diversified mineral exploration experience in Canada, the United States, Southern Africa, Portugal, Aruba and China.
His previous experience consisted of managing five Sino-Canadian Joint Venture companies exploring for gold and compiling a base metal inventory for China; he conducted precious metal exploration for sediment-hosted, hot-spring-related, skarn, greenstone, epithermal vein and banded iron formation gold deposits; he performed base metal exploration for volcanic massive sulphides, porphyry copper-gold and carbonate-hosted lead-zinc; managed a Canadian-wide exploration team for scheelite skarn and wolframite vein systems and conducted a North America-wide search for platinum-group metals. Mr. Forster holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of British Columbia and is a Registered Professional Geoscientist in British Columbia.
