Dr. Montgomery joined AtheroGenics in March 2004 and served as Vice President, Business Development until May 2006. His background spans nearly two decades in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining AtheroGenics, Dr. Montgomery served as Vice President of Business Development and Portfolio Planning at Celera Genomics, where he was responsible for assessing opportunities for partnering, mergers and acquisitions, as well as portfolio planning and risk management.
Immediately prior to joining Celera, Dr. Montgomery was Vice President and Co-Head, Business Development and Strategic Planning at DuPont Pharmaceuticals, where he and his team were responsible for business development, new product planning and portfolio valuation in cardiovascular disease, inflammatory disease, virology, and medical imaging. In this role, Dr. Montgomery provided leadership for the business management of more than seven clinical development programs and a number of earlier programs.
Dr. Montgomery received his Ph.D., Organic Chemistry, from the University of Minnesota, and his B.S. in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University. |
