Charles Schnatter has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Papa John’s International since February 2001. As S.V.P and C.D.O., Mr. Schnatter is responsible for overseeing the Company’s domestic franchising, restaurant development and business strategy.
Mr. Schnatter began with the Company in 1984, when he worked in the original Papa John’s restaurant while attending college. After graduating from law school in 1988, Mr. Schnatter joined the law firm of Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald, concentrating on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and franchise law.
Mr. Schnatter joined Papa John’s full-time in April 1991 as General Counsel. He served on the Board of Directors from May 1993 through August 2003 and participated in the Company’s Initial Public Offering.
In October 1995, Mr. Schnatter was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. He was responsible for overseeing all legal and risk management functions for the Company and was also involved in Papa John’s domestic and international franchising programs. During his tenure with the Company, Papa John’s has grown from one restaurant to nearly 3,000 restaurants in 49 states and 14 international markets.
Mr. Schnatter also serves on the Board of Directors for Skyline Chili, Inc., a Cincinnati based chain of restaurants and is a 2004 District Chair for the Lincoln Heritage Council, Boy Scouts of America. |
