Chuck is an consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1998 after working at a major reinsurance company.
Experience
Chuck’s area of expertise is property and casualty insurance, particularly ratemaking, loss reserve analysis, and financial planning. He has extensive experience in commercial lines, including workers’ compensation, professional liability, and other long-tail exposures. Beyond standard financial reporting and pricing projects, he has conducted captive formation feasibility studies, assisted clients in preparing for meetings with rating agencies, assisted companies in preparations for insurance department reviews, and projected self- insurance funding levels. Chuck has performed analyses for a variety of clients, including primary insurance providers, reinsurers, governmental entities, and self-insured organizations.
Chuck’s particular area of focus has been in professional liability coverage. He provides continuous pricing and reserving support to a number of medical professional liability insurers. He also performs annual reserve and prospective funding analyses for a number of self-insured healthcare organizations.
Presentations and publications
Chuck has published articles on medical professional liability and lawyers’ professional liability in National Underwriter and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) Journal.
Chuck participates in an educational seminar for officers of medical professional liability writers annually hosted by Milliman. The seminar deals with a variety of issues common among medical professional liability writers, as well as current trends within the industry.
