Mr. Aquino brings more than nine years of investment banking experience involving public and private company mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate and financial restructurings, fairness opinions, solvency opinions, capital structure analysis and capital raises involving public and private sources of debt and equity. Prior to joining Western Reserve Partners LLC at its inception in 2004, Mr. Aquino was a Senior Associate in KeyBanc Capital Markets’ Consumer Group, an Associate in McDonald Investments’ Mergers & Acquisitions Group and an Analyst in ING Barings LLC’s Retail, Consumer & Leisure Services Group.
Mr. Aquino is predominantly focused on middle-market mergers and acquisitions and capital raising assignments, from sourcing to execution, across several industry disciplines, including business services, consumer goods and services, specialty retail, niche manufacturing and value-added distribution. Representative transactions and clients of Mr. Aquino’s have included: the sale of OfficeMax, Inc. to Boise Cascade Corporation; the sale of LESCO Inc. to Deere & Company, and prior to that the divestiture of LESCO’s manufacturing and distribution operations to Platinum Equity Partners LLC; the sale of Elyria Foundry Company to Silverhawk Capital Partners; the sale of ARNCO Corporation to Audax Group; the sale of The Astrup Company to Glen Raven, Inc.; the sale of certain assets of Yoder Brothers to Syngenta AG; the sale of Claymont Steel Holdings, Inc. to Evraz Group S.A. (fairness opinion); the sale of TruSeal Technologies, Inc., a portfolio company of Kirtland Capital Partners, to Quanex Corporation; and the sale of Piercing Pagoda to Zale Corporation.
Mr. Aquino’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and a minor in Economics (Valedictorian) from the Boler School of Business at John Carroll University. Outside of Western Reserve, Mr. Aquino serves on the Board of Directors of The Lake Erie Nature & Science Center and is a member of the Executive Committee. He also serves on the Programs Committee of the John Carroll University Entrepreneurs Association and was an executive volunteer with the United Way of Greater Cleveland. Mr. Aquino previously served on the Advisory Board of The First Tee of Cleveland Organization. |
