It would be hard, if not impossible, to find a banker who has attained more experience during his adult life than IBC Corpus Christi President, Charles White. That’s because all of his adult life, plus a couple of teen years have been devoted to banking, most of it in his native South Texas. After beginning his banking career in Victoria, Texas, White has honed his management skills in virtually every area of commercial and retail banking, specializing in commercial lending for over 35 years. As a senior commercial lending officer, he has developed relationships with every category of business, large and small. A noted leader in Corpus Christi banking for over 25 years, his areas of expertise range from oil and gas and real estate lending to supervision of individual and corporate loan portfolios. Included among his business activities were directorships for several banks in the Corpus Christi area.White’s numerous community involvements include his service as President and Executive Board Member of the Gulf Coast Council Boy Scouts of America as well as a National Council Member, Board of Trustees of the Texas State Aquarium, Board of Governors of the United Way of the Coastal Bend, Board of Directors of the Corpus Christi Community Development Corporation, Board of Directors of the Downtown Management District, Supporting Trustee of the South Texas Institute for the Arts, Board of Directors of the Karen E. Henry Foundation, Director of the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi and a Member of Corpus Christi Mustangs. He also serves on the Business Advisory Council of the College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.White is a graduate of Victoria College, the American Institute of Banking and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU. |
