Linke is professor emeritus of finance at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign). He is also CEO of Economics Et Cetera, Inc., formerly Linke & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in financial economics.
Linke joined the U of I faculty in 1966, serving as IBE distinguished professor of finance, chairperson of the department of finance, associate dean for graduate studies, and associate dean of executive education. He has also served as visiting scholar at Senshu University in Tokyo, Japan, and visiting professor at Nankai University, People's Republic of China. Linke is a graduate of Indiana University, where he also earned an M.B.A. in 1961 and a D.B.A. in 1966.
