Charles J. Conroy is a partner in the Global Corporate Department of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. Mr. Conroy has extensive experience in merger, acquisition and securities transactions . He has acted for many U.S. and multinational companies with respect to their acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and joint ventures. Recent transactions have focused on the technology outsourcing, chemical, financial services, telecommunications and energy sectors. Mr. Conroy has also spoken on the application of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation to domestic and foreign issuers.
Mr. Conroy has written and spoken widely on corporate and securities transactions.. His writings have appeared in the New York Law Journal, The International Financial Law Review, The National Law Journal and the Stanford Journal of International Law. He is a graduate of Yale College, where he majored in Chinese Studies. He lived and worked in Beijing and Hong Kong for several years, having taught at the Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade in 1981 and returning to New York from Hong Kong in 1987. Mr. Conroy graduated from Columbia Law School in 1978, where he was Writing and Research Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law and where he also taught a course on Chinese commercial law from 1987-1991. He serves on the Board of the National Committee on US-China Relations . Finally, Mr. Conroy was recently named to the "BTI Client Service All-Star Team."
