Charlie Castner’s practice is primarily focused on the representation of management in all aspects of labor, employment and immigration law, including counseling and litigation. Mr. Castner regularly advises international and multi-national businesses on a broad range of labor, employment and immigration matters, including the following: Human resources management counseling and training on various employment issues, such as hiring, evaluations, discipline and terminations Preparation and revision of employee handbooks and employment policies Business-related immigration and visa law, including non-immigrant and immigrant matters and worker authorization documentation requirements Federal and state wage and hour issues EEOC and state agency proceedings and litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and harassment claims Family and Medical Leave Act Mr. Castner has extensive experience working with the relevant government agencies such as the EEOC, the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission (SHAC), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Castner worked for a Fortune 100 communications company for 12 years in various managerial capacities. Mr. Castner is a certified mediator in both North Carolina and South Carolina. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
