C.E. Andrews is the Executive Vice President at SLM Corporation (Sallie Mae), with responsibilities for Finance, Accounting and Risk Management. His responsibilities include Sallie Mae's capital market activities for debt and equity transactions, internal and external financial accounting and reporting, and establishing and executing the risk management policies and practices. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Sallie Mae Bank; a Sallie Mae wholly owned industrial bank located in Utah.
Prior to joining Sallie Mae, C.E. was with Arthur Andersen, where he became a partner in 1984. While with Arthur Andersen, C.E. held many leadership roles including Managing Partner of the Mid-Atlantic Region and Managing Partner of the Audit and Business Advisory Practice globally. C.E. also served on Arthur Andersen's Board of Partners. His professional affiliations include Certified Public Accountants in Virginia, member of AICPA and VSCPA.
C.E.'s community and civic involvement, either previously or currently, includes: Chairman of the Board of the National Capital Chapter of the American Red Cross, chair of Leadership Washington, member of the Board of Directors and President of Boys' Home, Inc, member of the Museum Board of Overseers for the Corcoran Gallery of Art, member of the Board of Directors of the Washington Performing Arts Society, member of the Board of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, member of the Washington/Baltimore Regional 2012 Olympics Coalition, member of the Federal City Council of Washington, D.C, co-chair for the 2000 and 2001 Leukemia Ball and member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area.
C.E. graduated from Virginia Tech in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
