Charles Bayless served as chairman of Illinova and Illinois Power from August 1998 until his retirement in December 1999. Mr. Bayless also held the position of CEO for Illinova and president of Illinois Power from July 1998 until September 1999.
Prior to that he was chairman president and CEO of Tucson Electric Power. Mr. Bayless served as a director of Illinova from 1998 until the closing of the merger with Dynegy Inc.
Mr. Bayless is currently president of West Virginia University Institute of Technology a Regional campus of West Virginia University.
Mr. Bayless received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology. He earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power Engineering and in 1972 received a degree in law. Both degrees were earned from West Virginia University. Mr. Bayless also holds a master's of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business Administration University of Michigan. |
