Dr. Young currently serves as president of the University of Florida, a position he has held since November 1999. Previously, Dr. Young served as chancellor of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) for 29 years until his retirement in November 1997. Dr. Young was formerly the chairman of the Association of American Universities and served on numerous commissions including the American Council on Education, the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, and the Business-Higher Education Forum.
Dr. Young serves on the board of directors of Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC), I-MARK, Inc., and Student Advantage, Inc. Dr. Young has a Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from UCLA and a B.A. from the University of California at Riverside.
