Charles C. Moore is a Principal of The Carlyle Group focused on small leveraged buyout and growth equity investments in the North American business services and applied technology sectors. He is based in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Moore served as a Managing Director of Perseus, L.L.C., a private equity firm based in Washington and New York, where he focused on leveraged buyout and growth capital investments in a variety of industries. While at Perseus, Mr. Moore was a Director of Workflow Management, Inc. and an adviser to Cardiac Science, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Moore practiced law at the firm of Williams & Connolly and served as a law clerk to Justice Stephen G. Breyer on the U.S. Supreme Court. Before entering law, Mr. Moore was a strategy consultant at Mercer Management Consulting and McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Moore received his J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School, where he was a Nathan Abbott Scholar. He received a Master's in history from Oxford University and an A.B. in politics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University.
