Mr. Samkoff was a Managing Director in CIBC World Markets' Mergers and Acquisition Group overseeing the Communications, Defense/Aerospace and Consumer M&A Groups. Mr. Samkoff joined CIBC World Markets in 1998 as part of a core team of M&A bankers mandated to build CIBC World Markets' M&A franchise. In 1999 and 2000, CIBC World Markets' M&A Group ranked as one of the fastest growing M&A practices according Thomson Financial. With over 12 years of M&A experience, Mr. Samkoff has completed numerous mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and hostile defenses in a variety of sectors, including working with the financial sponsor community, with an aggregate value in excess of $30 billion. Recent transaction experience includes representing clients, among others, Washington Group Int'l in its sale of its Westinghouse Defense Business, Celeritek in its takeover defense of Anaren's unsolicited offer, Maryland Jockey Club in its sale to Magna Entertainment, and Geac in its acquisition of Extensity. Prior to joining CIBC World Markets, Mr. Samkoff worked in the Mergers and Acquisition Group at Rothschild Inc. for five years, most recently as a Vice President and Goldmark Partners Ltd. He earned a MBA with Honors from Fordham University and a BA in Economics from University of Denver. |
