Mr. Charles Bowsher has a distinguished background in corporate governance, and financial management and reporting in both the private and public sectors. His experience includes a 15-year term as Comptroller General of the United States and head of the General Accounting Office (GAO), a 21-year association with Arthur Andersen & Co., and a 4-year period as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Financial Management. Since retiring as Comptroller General, Mr. Bowsher has served on several corporate boards. He is a trustee of the Center for Naval Analysis, the Logistics Management Institute, the United States Navy Memorial Foundation, the Concord Coalition, the Hitachi Foundation, and serves on advisory boards at several universities. Mr. Bowsher was also Chairman of the Public Oversight Board which was an independent, private sector body that monitored and reported on the self-regulatory programs and activities of the SEC Practice Section of the Division for CPA firms of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a major in accounting, and received an MBA from the University of Chicago. |
