A former broadcast news anchor, Channa Luma is a Senior Director in The Weiser Group's Washington, D.C. office. Channa draws upon her journalism experience and expertise to drive media coverage that furthers clients' business and financial objectives.
Before joining The Weiser Group, Channa was the 5:00p.m. and 11:00p.m. newsanchor at WCTI-TV in New Bern, North Carolina, reaching more than 250,000 viewers in 16 different counties. Prior to that, she was an anchor/reporter at WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Her features, focusing on the plight of foster children, garnered the "One Church One Child" award of excellence from the Commonwealth of Virginia. During her college tenure, Channa worked in consumer unit research/production at WRC-TV in Washington, DC.
Although she's no longer working in local television, Channa thrives on breaking news and constantly monitors current events. She is a self proclaimed "news junkie" who cannot live without Newsweek.
Channa holds a B.S. in mass communications with a concentration in broadcast journalism from James Madison University. She got her start in broadcasting by hosting the University's televised campus review. |
