Mr. Chan is responsible for CLP Power Hong Kong's corporate and strategic planning functions, including sales and demand forecasts, electricity tariff management, and development of corporate and regulatory strategy. He is the direct interface with the HKSAR Government and other stakeholders regarding the review of the regulatory framework and government policies on Hong Kong's electricity supply industry.
He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1981 and joined CLP Power Hong Kong in the same year. Since then he had held a range of managerial posts in different functional areas in power system planning, design, operations, maintenance, construction, commissioning and asset management. He assumed his current position in April 2002.
Mr. Chan is currently a Non-Official Member of the Commission on Strategic Development, providing advice to the Chief Executive of HKSAR Government of the direction and strategy of social development to enhance the quality of life in Hong Kong. He served as a part-time Member of the Central Policy Unit of the HKSAR Government between 2002 and 2004.
