Biography
Chad Arnette represents corporate and individual clients in a wide variety of litigation in state and federal courts involving commercial disputes, professional malpractice, real estate, oil and gas, securities, antitrust, employment disputes and other matters. Chad has participated in numerous civil and criminal trials in state and federal courts. Chad has also arbitrated cases before the National Association of Securities Dealers and the American Arbitration Association. Prior to joining Kelly Hart & Hallman, Chad practiced law in the Dallas office of Vinson & Elkins, LLP.

Significant Matters
Defended numerous law firms and accounting firms in professional malpractice cases.
Won a judgment of acquittal for a client following a six-day jury trial in Dallas federal court in a criminal conspiracy case (nine other defendants were convicted).
Successfully arbitrated a fee dispute on behalf of a real estate client resulting in an arbitration award of damages and attorneys fees.
Successfully defended an investment bank and brokerage firm in an NASD arbitration against a former employee.
Obtained actual and punitive damages for an internet start-up company following a federal court bench trial involving claims of fraud and breach of contract.
Member of trial team that defended an accounting firm in a $300 million professional malpractice suit brought by the bankruptcy trustee of its former client. Trial team won a defense verdict following a three-week jury trial.
Tried eleven jury trials and numerous bench trials as a prosecutor for the Dallas County District Attorney's Office through the "Lawyers on Loan" program.
Won summary judgment on all claims in a tortious interference suit against a health care client in Arkansas federal court.
Won summary judgment for a real estate firm in a commercial brokerage fee dispute pending in Dallas federal court, affirmed by the Fifth Circuit on appeal.
Member of team that won summary judgment on all claims on the eve of trial in a $100 million malpractice suit against accounting firm client.
Won summary judgment in favor of a heavy truck manufacturer in a products liability lawsuit arising out of the explosion of a tanker trailer and resulting death of the driver.
Successfully prosecuted and settled fraud claims for an individual investor in an NASD arbitration against a now-defunct New York brokerage firm.
Defended a pipeline company in a personal injury lawsuit resulting from the explosion of a high-pressure ethane/propane line. |
