Chad Shultz defends employee lawsuits and advises clients on avoiding litigation and managing lawsuits through proactive policies and supervisor training. He has represented management in state and federal court in 23 states during his 18 years with Ford & Harrison. He has written and produced training programs including "Communication & Documentation: The Key to Effective Management" (a complete DVD program utilizing deposition clips), a Harassment Prevention Video Program (in English and Spanish), and a video-taped sexual harassment Mock Trial training program (previews available at www.fhsolutionsgroup.com). Chad is also a certified mediator on the panel of neutrals at Henning Mediation in Atlanta. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is also AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Active with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) at the state and local levels, Chad currently serves on the Board of Directors for SHRM-Atlanta, is a Past President of the Central Georgia Chapter, past Director for the SHRM Georgia State Council and past Legislative Director for SHRM-Atlanta.
Chad is the current President of the Board for the A.R. "Gus" Barksdale Boys & Girls Club and a Trustee on the National Board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He also serves on the Board of F&H Solutions Group LLC, Ford & Harrison's human capital consulting company. For the past 4 years, Chad has led the firm's involvement with Habitat for Humanity (2004-2007) by spearheading Ford & Harrison's initiative to build a home with three participating partner businesses.
Chad authors a number of articles for SHRM-Atlanta, the Georgia SHRM State Council, and SHRM-National. Most recently, he published an article in Corporate Counsel, "The Litigation Lottery" (Sept. 2005) discussing jury trial and class action waivers. He also authored an article in HR Magazine (Jan. 2005), "The Jury's Still Out-Way Out," encouraging employers to consider jury waivers with employees and "Defining Success in Employment Litigation" in Executive Counsel (Feb. 2005) addressing effective communication between outside counsel and the client.
After graduating from law school, Chad clerked with the Federal District Court in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He earned an advanced degree in litigation from Emory University.
