Director Cathy Green joined the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors in Jaunuary 2005.Cathy is a member of the Huntington Beach City Council. She was elected in November 2002. While on the City Council she has served as Mayor, as a member of the Citywide Water Quality Management Plan Committee, as a member of the Economic Development Committee, and the Southeast Area Committee. She has also held appointments to the Anti-Crime Coalition, the Huntington Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau, and the Orange County Sanitation District. She has been Council Liaison to the Children's Needs Task Force, the Citizen Participation Advisory Board, the Community Services Commission, the Human Relations Task Force, the Youth Board, and the Huntington Beach Council on Aging.
As a member of the OCTA Board of Directors, Director Green serves as a member of the Regional Planning and Highways Committee and the Transit Planning and Operations Committee.
Director Green previously worked for Lockhart and Associates where she coordinated the preparation of Environmental Impact Reports and prepared State and Federal permit applications on a variety of environmental projects. She has also served as the liaison between environmental groups and project developers on several environmental projects. As a nurse she has worked in the areas of Intensive Care, Student Health, Community Health, and Patient Advocacy.
Director Green has been an active member of the American Cancer Society, the Huntington Beach Hospital Board, the Huntington Beach Community Clinic Board, the Breast Cancer Survivors, the Therapeutic Riding Center, the Huntington Beach School District Medi-Cal Collaborative, the Huntington Beach Citizens Emergency Response Team - First Aid, Huntington Harbour Republican Women, the Soroptimists International of Huntington Beach. She also is a member of the Grand Jurors Association and served on the Orange County Grand Jury in 1998-1999. She was a founding member of the Amigos de Bolsa Chica and has been a member of the Bolsa Chica Conservancy since 1990.
