Cathy Zeman Scheineson is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office. She is a member of the Health Department. Her primary activities include representations of health care organizations in a variety of corporate transactions.
Prior to joining the Firm, Cathy spent seven years as a public finance attorney. She served as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and credit enhancer's counsel in transactions involving hospitals, nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, educational facilities and other tax-exempt organizations.
Before attending law school, Cathy worked at the National Institutes of Health, Office for Protection from Research Risks, where she assisted in the drafting of regulations for the protection of human research subjects. Other areas of experience include health planning, licensure of health care institutions, health policy and medical ethics.
Cathy is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
