Cathy Hart is vice president, corporate services, with responsibility for aviation services, corporate communications, property services, shareholder services, and the Xcel Energy Foundation. As corporate secretary of Xcel Energy and its various subsidiaries, she serves as liaison between management and the board of directors. She is the company's chief compliance officer with responsibility for compliance and ethics. Prior to the 2000 merger between Northern States Power Co. and New Century Energies (NCE), Hart was the corporate secretary for NCE.
A communications professional for more than 20 years, Hart has held public relations positions at NCE, American Electric Power, Desbrow & Associates, and Old Ben Coal Co. She also served as city editor of the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette in Lancaster, Ohio.
Hart is a member of the Ethics Officer Association. She has served on the board of directors for the Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross, Colorado Ethics In Business, the Girl Scouts, the Mile High Council, and the Mile High United Way Cabinet in Denver. She also served as vice president, American Women of Sydney (Australia).
Hart earned a bachelor of science degree in journalism from Ohio University at Athens, and has completed the Public Utilities Executive Course at the University of Idaho and Leadership Denver. |
