Catherine Butts, Managing Director in Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Atlanta office, has over a decade of experience in the legal recruiting profession. Before joining MLA Catherine was responsible for associate recruiting at one of Atlanta’s largest law firms. This experience provided her with a unique perspective on law firm culture and the needs of lawyers and law firms.
Catherine collaborates in her practice with Bob Graff. They are among the firms most experienced recruiters completing over 150 in-house placements. Their client base is national, a mixture of small companies and Fortune 100 corporations. Clients often compliment Catherine and Bob on their ability to understand the cultural fit required for a successful lasting placement. Candidates regularly praise their attention to detail and thorough preparation for client interviews. The team approach means they are easily accessible and able to respond quickly to client needs. Catherine and Bob’s long track record of success gives them access to a network of successful and satisfied attorneys and clients. It is this access that allows them to present an outstanding slate of candidates for every search they conduct.
Catherine and Bob also collaborate on lateral partner recruiting and have a successful placement history among select firms in the Southeast.
Catherine is a 1985 graduate of Southern Methodist University, where she received her bachelor of arts degree in French. She has lived abroad and is proficient in French. After graduation, Catherine returned to her native New Orleans and put her love of cooking to practical (and good) use by starting and managing a small restaurant. When she moved to Atlanta in 1990, Catherine began her involvement with the Atlanta civic community by serving as a full-time organizer of a fundraiser for the Georgia Council on Child Abuse.
Outside of the office, Catherine enjoys hiking, working in her garden and running - she hopes to complete another marathon soon. Her other interests include movies, reading and travel. |
