Cassie Lau is co-head of XL Capital Assurance s (XLCA) Asset-Backed Structured (ABS) Finance Group, and leads the firm s consumer structured finance business. She is a member of XLCA s managing committee and credit committee. Ms. Lau joined XLCA in 2000 from Fitch, Inc. As a senior director at Fitch, Ms. Lau led the rating effort for cash flow, synthetic and hybrid collateralized debt obligations, and developed new rating criteria. Prior to joining Fitch, Ms. Lau worked at Credit Lyonnais for eleven years where she helped found the New York branch s structured finance department, and managed a team that was responsible for structuring and purchasing ABS transactions. She began her career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. Ms. Lau graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of New York at Albany with a B.A. in Economics. She received an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University s Graduate School of Business Administration. |
