Catherine Disch serves as the Executive Vice President of the Truman Medical Centers Corporation and Chief Operating Officer of the Hospital Hill facility since March 1999. She provides system-wide oversight for budgeting, major system integration, directs day-to-day operations of all inpatient and outpatient services, emergency department visits, and all ancillary and support services.
Ms. Disch has more than 30 years of healthcare experience and nearly 20 years of healthcare leadership experience. She is a Master's level trained administrator with progressive management and administration experience. An accomplished corporate strategist, her expertise includes finance, budgeting & program development.
Ms. Disch's strategic approach to building a better organization has been highlighted in her work as Chief Operating Officer of Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she had significant impact on organizational improvement and growth. She reconfigured operations producing cost savings of $5+ million, expanded outpatient clinic activity, developed comprehensive total quality management system and implemented new and expanded programs. Her focus on operational efficiency quickly delivered impressive bottom-line results.
Ms. Disch's vision and talents in business performance drove notable growth during her time as Administrator of Ambulatory Services at the University of Texas Medical Branch by her establishment of new satellite clinic sites for Ophthalmology and Psychiatry services, expansion of OB/GYN services by adding an antepartum fetal testing unit, renovation of all existing waiting rooms, and initiated renovation of the outpatient pharmacy unit.
Offering a rare precision in her operations direction, Ms. Disch also achieved exciting organizational improvements at UTMB, including development of multi-disciplinary TQM process and operational performance criteria that improved patient satisfaction, increased productivity, and enhanced UTMB's ability to compete in the marketplace.
Ms. Disch received her BBA from the University of Minnesota and her MBA from the College of St. Thomas. She has received a certificate in Medical Records Administration from Seattle University and is a registered Medical Records Administrator. She served as adjunct Professor of Public Administration at Hamline University and has been a National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems fellow. She is active as a Board member of the Swope Ridge Geriatric Center and the Behavioral Health Network.
