Catherine A. Battin is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Chicago office. As a member of the Tax Department, Cate's practice focuses on state and local tax.
Prior to joining McDermott, Cate worked at a Chicago-based law firm, where she focused primarily on federal income and estate tax issues. She also worked at a major international accounting and consulting firm, where she focused exclusively on state and local taxes.
While attending law school, Cate was a member of the DePaul Law Review, where her article, "Victim of the Crime? The Government's Burden in Proving Predisposition in Federal Entrapment Cases," was published in 1999.
Cate is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois.
