Carrie A. Beyer is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. She concentrates her practice on assisting clients to protect and enforce their intellectual property assests.
Carrie counsels clients on all aspects of patent law, including patentability, infringement, validity, and licensing. She has litigated patent infringement matters, including a successful jury trial, in addition to contract, trademark, and unfair competition matters.
Carrie also prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the electrical and related arts for clients in the aerospace, consumer electronics, and telecommunications industries.
In General. Carrie earned her bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and history in 2000 from Iowa State University, where she was elected to numerous honor societies including Eta Kappa Nu, Mortar Board, Order of Omega, and Golden Key. She received her J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2004. At the University of Illinois, Carrie served as an editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and received a Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Publications. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to practicing law, she gained broad product design experience while employed as an engineer at Hamilton Sundstrand Aerospace, a United Technologies company. |
