For many people, Carolyn Richards has a dream job. She thinks so too. As Kettle Foods’ Chief Flavor Architect, Richards leads development of the innovative flavor combinations that make naturally hearty Kettle brand Potato Chips so appealing. Part of her job description is literally eating chips. Along the way she helps create new flavors, ensure product quality and monitor food trends. A food scientist by training with a master’s degree from Oregon State University, Richards is an avid reader of food magazines, always on the lookout for daring flavor combinations. Richards is also a member of the Research Chef’s Association, a group instrumental in combining the fields of food science and culinary arts to coin culinology. At home she’s a self-described foodie who loves to try new recipes and has a reputation for never making the same thing twice. Her current Kettle brand Potato Chip favorite is Dill and Sour Cream Kettle brand Krinkle Cut Potato Chips. |
