Carolyn Corbett joined Saint Alphonsus in 2001 as Vice President Patient Care Services, and CNO. Prior to her arrival in Boise, Carolyn served as Senior Vice President Patient Care Services, Guthrie Healthcare System in northeastern Pennsylvania and developed a private practice in executive coaching and leadership development.
Carolyn has led efforts to measure and improve nursing quality, satisfaction of patients, staff and physicians, and especially to strengthen the professional practice environment for nurses. As a result of this work, Saint Alphonsus submitted its application for Magnet hospital designation in May of 2006. Her concurrent focus continues to be on improving operational effectiveness, teamwork and customer satisfaction in all the clinical and ancillary departments of the hospital.
Carolyn has served three years as the elected Regent for Idaho and on the ACHE Council of Regents and now on the Idaho Regents Advisory Council and ACHE Counselors Committee. She also serves on the Boise State University's Friends of Nursing Board.
Carolyn's prior community service includes serving as Chair for community-wide United Way Campaign, and membership on local Boards of the Red Cross and United Way in New York and Pennsylvania. In response to several incidents of "line-of-duty" deaths in those EMS communities, she helped found a community-focused Critical Incident Stress Management Team; serving as Team Leader for numerous Critical Incident Stress interventions for EMS and other Life Safety volunteers. |
