Carolyn Traister Schiff is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, resident in the Firm's New York office. As a member of the Trial Department, Carolyn has a diverse practice, including the prosecution and defense of a wide variety of complex commercial disputes and the representation of defendants in products liability actions. She has also represented clients in arbitration proceedings under the auspices of both the International Chamber of Commerce and the American Arbitration Association.
Carolyn is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits. Carolyn is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American Bar Association. During law school, she was the notes editor for the Columbia-VLA Journal of Law and the Arts.

Obtained an award of $36 million US on behalf of U.S. subsidiary of French-multinational avionics company in an ICC arbitration held in New York in a case involving breaches of representations and warranties.
Obtained an award in an ICC arbitration on behalf of a UK company dismissing a $50 million U.S. breach of contract claim and ruling that the Canadian claimant had breached the parties' agreement.
Obtained federal court jury verdict in favor of multinational telecommunications company rejecting plaintiff's claim of promissory estoppel.
Obtained federal court post-trial judgment as a matter of law on behalf of multinational telecommunications company overturning jury verdict in favor of adversary.
Obtained summary judgment in federal court action dismissing $5 million product liability action on behalf of major U.S. pharmaceutical company.
Obtained summary judgment in federal court action on behalf of a multinational telecommunications company dismissing a $25 million breach of contract claim.
Obtained federal court jury verdict in favor of major research hospital rejecting plaintiff's defamation claim.
