Caroline has over 20 years of experience in process improvement and redesign focused on supply chain and strategic sourcing.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron, Caroline consulted with Wellspring Partners, now a Huron Consulting Group Practice. Previously, she worked with Ernst & Young and Arthur Anderson with experience that spans a variety of industries ranging from healthcare to manufacturing.
Caroline's work focuses on realizing tangible cost savings, by identifying new products and alternate sources, renegotiating contracts, developing vendor management strategies, and analyzing and adjusting utilization. As a project director, she structured effective project teams and plans, identified and managed risks, and designed strategies and activities to produce positive organizational change.
Representative examples of Caroline's engagement experience include:
Implemented several strategic sourcing/non labor cost reduction projects for various healthcare systems. Projects include managing teams to identify and quantify cost saving opportunities, develop work plans, manage issues and implement savings. Cost savings (recurring annual savings) range from $1M to $30M per year.
Led several technology-based process improvement projects, including SAP and other supply chain/demand management packages. Project responsibilities included developing overall project plans, design and configuration of software, as well as redesigning processes (materials management, procurement, finance) to maximize benefit of new technology, and training end users.
Developed and implemented strategic sourcing & supplier management strategies.
Conducted supply chain analyses and implemented process improvements focused on increasing capacity and throughput, the planning and scheduling processes, shipping and inventory management.
Developed numerous departmental outsourcing studies, comparing internal costs to vendor supplied services, for a non-profit entity.
