Dr. Carolina Reyes is the executive director of the Los Angeles Best Babies Collaborative/Center for Healthy Births, dedicated to improving the health of children born into poverty. She is on the faculty at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai, and is an assistant professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. After earning a bachelor’s degree at Stanford and her MD from Harvard Medical School, she completed her residence at Los Angeles County/USC Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She has been appointed to national medical committees and has been a senior scholar with the U.S. Agency for Health Research and Quality. She has received many awards, including the National Latina Alliance Visionary Award. She and her husband, congressman Xavier Becerra, are raising three children. |
