Carole Sadler is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Coach, and brings over 17 years of legal and retail experience to the position. Ms. Sadler joined Coach as Vice President, Chief Counsel in 1997, before being promoted to her present post in May 2000.
Ms. Sadler has been instrumental in gaining recognition and protection of Coach's intellectual property rights by pursuing counterfeiters of Coach products, both internationally and domestically, as well as the infringers of Coach trademarks and trade dress. Notably, as part of these efforts, Coach obtained a favorable decision in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, in Sara Lee Corporation (Coach) v. American Leather Products, Inc., where the Court recognized Coach's distinctive trade dress in the Coach Classic and Business Collections.
Previously, Ms. Sadler served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Saks Fifth Avenue from 1991 to 1997, where she had broad based responsibilities for the legal department of the premier specialty retail chain in the U.S. From 1984 to 1991, Ms. Sadler practiced law as a litigation associate in New York City, most recently at the law firm of White & Case.
Ms. Sadler holds a Juris Doctor degree from American University, Washington College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Smith College. |
