Carole Milner

Carole was raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated with highest honors from The Univesity of Montevallo, Montevallo, Al earining a BSSW, and received an MSSW from the Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville, Louisville,Kentucky in 1976. Her varied career experiences over the past 25+ years include both direct clinical practice and supervision/planning/administration, and span from child welfare and juvenile justice, to crisis counseling and traditional individual, group and family therapies to EAP work. Geographically Carole has practiced in Ohio, Florida and back in her home state of Alabama. She was Assistant Professor of Social Work in The University of Alabama at Birmingham's Social Work Department/School of Behavioral Sciences for six years, and was a finalist for the SBS Excellence in Teaching Award three of those six years. She regularly conducts trainings for organizations and has been a frequent presenter at regional and state conferences in the Southeast. Presently Carole is in private practice as a clinical social worker in Homewood, Alabama as well as holding the Assistant Professor of Social Work/Adolescent Division of Pediatric Medicine at UAB.

Carole hold the ACSW from the National Association of Social Workers, is a Board Certified Diplomate through the National Board of Examiner's in Clinical Social Work, is licensed by the State of Alabama as a Certified Social Worker and for Private Independent Practice. She is Certified in Realty Therapy through The William Glasser Institute. Currently active and a past officer of the Alabama Society for Clinical Social Work, a past officer on the Board of Directors of a local non-profit agency, and past president of a local service club. Carole tries to offer back to the community beyond her career responsibilities.
