The Right Reverend Carol Joy Gallagher is Bishop Suffragan of The Diocese of New Jersey, in Trenton, New Jersey. A member of the Cherokee nation, Reverend Gallagher was consecrated Bishop in the Church of God in April, 2002, in Lawrenceville, Virginia, and became Bishop Suffragan in the Diocese of Southern Virginia. She served on the Board of the Indigenous Theological Training Institute, the Episcopal Council of Indian Ministries, and the Anti-Racism Committee. Reverend Gallagher has also served as co-chair on the Committee of the Status of Women, member of the executive committee of the Council for the Development of Ministry, and was chaplain to the Episcopal Church Women's triennial in Philadelphia in 1997. |
