Carly is thrilled to freelance for Centerstage as an excuse to explore every nook and cranny of Chicago and empty her wallet at the most fabulous bars and eateries. A senior at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, she hopes to continue this pattern in the future as a magazine journalist/culture aficionado. In addition to writing and frivolously spending her savings, Carly enjoys discovering music other people haven't heard of, traveling (Spain, Israel and Morocco are among favorites), throwing and attending parties, watching back-to-back seasons of Entourage, concert-going, reading the New York Times headlines, tasting wine, failing miserably at guitar and pursuing yoga as a quasi-religious practice. She recently returned from a semester in Madrid and will speak broken Spanish to anyone who will respond. Her journalistic role models include Maureen Dowd, Graydon Carter and Centerstage Editor Kate who, although they share the same last name, roots in Connecticut, a Northwestern journalism major and a former apartment (and bedroom!) address, Carly swears she isn't stalking. |
